Artslynx International Dance Resources

"Dance Links, Ballet Links, and other resources organized into accessible link libraries. The Dance pages from Artslynx attempt to allow users to easily navigate to the many amazing dance link libraries available online, but where we find gaps, Artslynx aims to fill them with it's own original set of dance and ballet resources. We hope that you find time to explore this unique dance link collection. All links are screened for high-quality content by Artslynx Editor, Richard Finkelstein." (Home page)

International Choreography Commissioning Program (ICCP)

REVIEW: The ICCP provides an opportunity to work with the American Dance Festival. Described as a "greenhouse" for talented US dancers, the Festival offers time, resources, dancers and the freedom to allow dance to thrive. The International Choreography Residence Program (ICR) extends this opportunity to international artists. A link to the ICR (via the homepage) describes the program at Duke University, North Carolina. The pages are less about the practical details of application and selection onto the program than on the opportunities offered by the ADF. The ADF site contains archives, festival details, program details, discussion lists and links.

Nederlands Dans Theater

"NDT was established in 1959 by a group of 18 members of the former Het Nederlands Ballet who broke away from the traditionally orientated company. Dedicated to bridging the gap between modern dance and classical ballet, the new group quickly forged a reputation as one of the most innovative and exciting dance groups in Europe.

Under Jiří Kylian's visionary direction, the company's last twenty-one years have seen a continuous artistic progression, true to the founding principles of the group, and bringing with it furthered international pre-eminence.

Unique to NDT is the structure -- three ensembles within one company, each presenting a different dimension of dance. NDT 1, the main company of dancers; NDT 2, a group of 14 young dancers between the ages of 18 and 21; and NDT 3 a small group of dancers of 40 plus years who are able to bring all their accumulated experience and expertise to a repertoire devised to exploit their refined theatrical presence. Thus NDT, as a three in one entity, is able to present to its audiences the whole working life span of its artists. During the 1997/1997 season, the three ensembles will collectively offer approximately 90 performances in its home theater in The Hague and more than 160 performances in guest theaters both within the Netherlands and throughout Europe, Asia and America."
