External Projects with PALATINE Engagement
In addition to developing and running its own projects, and its engagement with CETLs and other major HE initiatives (see menu on left), PALATINE is involved in a number of individual external projects. These are listed and briefly described below. Click on the project title for more detailed information about each project and also links to the website and/or resources of each project.
Current projects
Creating Future-Proof Graduates: linking the classroom and professional practice
Birmingham City University is pioneering a project aiming to create the UK’s first ‘future-proof’ graduates. The project is funded by the university and the Higher Education Academy and will help develop innovative teaching resources, such as case studies and scenarios, using a mixture of video, IT and the Virtual Learning Environment Moodle. These resources will form a staff development tool for lecturers across the whole FE and HE sector who can then pass them on to students. They will be equally useful for students in any discipline. They will also be used by employers to support new recruits.
Past projects
Assessing Group Practice (AGP)
The Assessing Group Practice (AGP) project was funded by HEFCE's Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning (FDTL) in the period 2000 to 2004. It was undertaken by a consortium led by Central School of Speech and Drama, and included five other Higher Education institutions: Goldsmiths College - University of London; Dartington College of Arts; and the universities of Leeds, Salford and Ulster. The project aimed to ensure that assessment of collaborative activity within the performing arts can be demonstrated to be fair, robust and practicable across the sector. The identification and sharing of successful practice was seen as a key means to this end. The AGP project produced a web-based resource of case studies, reports, workshops that are available on the PALATINE website.
